Hello! My name is Alex Heil. I am a certified CFII ASEL pilot and instructor who specializes in taildragging and backcountry flying. I have been flying for over 20 years, flew and trained pilots for the Civil Air Patrol in Search and Rescue using FLIR (Forward-Looking Infrared) to find subjects that were lost or in dire situations, and have traveled to Italy to fly backcountry in the Dolomites. Flying is my absolute passion. My mission is to teach and inspire others to fall in love with the sky as I have, while sharing with them the tools, techniques, and safety precautions that make flying a dream come true.
